The Debt Has Been Paid

It’s the happiest day of the year. Kidding. It’s Tax Day—the dreaded day when the bill is due. You’ve worked all year, and Uncle Sam has come to collect his share.

We are also coming to the end of the Lenten season. This weekend, millions of Christians worldwide will gather to celebrate the Resurrection of the King. We will declare that He is Risen with the collective response. He is risen indeed!

We can’t get to Sunday without Friday, though. It’s called Good Friday because of what would be accomplished on that day, but it was a wretched day. Jesus, the sinless one, would be crucified after the Pharisees’ successful witch hunt and the Roman official’s dereliction of duty.
